Members offered varied perspectives on eating meat with stage 3 kidney disease, with most confirming that chicken, fish, and turkey are generally well-tolerated, while red meat and pork are often discouraged though individual doctor recommendations differ. Several members emphasized practical strategies including avoiding processed and frozen foods high in sodium, choosing low-sodium cheeses like Swiss, cooking without salt and adding only a pinch of sea salt when plating, and eating protein with each meal as recommended by nephrologists.
